We commence our tour with a beautiful scenic drive through the modern part of Rhodes town, along the mandraki esplanade where we will see the government buildings, the church of annunciation, built in 1925, copy of the old Church of the knights of St. John, which was destroyed in 1856, the deer statues, standing at the entrance of mandraki port,it was said that the colossos of rhodes probably stood here,one of the eigth wonders of the ancient world.

We continue our drive upto Monte Smith, where we have breathtaking views of Rhodes town and the Aegean sea. mount Monte Smith houses the acropolis of Rhodes and the ancient stadium which was built 2nd century BC. We proceed our drive to the old city of Rhodes, once we have reached the old city, we proceed by foot through the gate of amboise. visit the grand masters Palace, which was built in the 14th century, destroyed in 1856 and rebuilt in 1939 by the Italians, in order to accommodate the king of Italy victor Emmanuel 11 and Mussolini. after our tour of the palace, we proceed by foot down the street of the knights where we see the many inns once occupied by the crusaders. At the end of the street we then come to the archaeological museum, which was the knights’ hospital built in 1440, it is the most magnificent and well-preserved building in the old town.

We continue our drive along the east coast of rhodes and our route will take us past some of the most beautiful beaches of the island. We will also pass through some villages before we arrive at one of the the three ancient cities of Rhodes – Lindos. One of the most famous villages on the island, renowed for its ancient Acropolis, at a height of 170 meters giving a spectacular and breathtaking view of the whole of Lindos, including its superb sandy beach and charming white –washed, sugar cubed houses. Wander through the labyrinth of narrow cobbled streets, admire the colorful courtyards and mosaics, which Lindos is famous for. Ancient Lindos was the most important town on the island and had been inhabited ever since the 3rd millennium bc.the view from the acropolis and the nearby medieval castle is captivating. After our guided tour of the acropolis, we walk down to the village we where have some free time before we walk back to the buses and make our way back to the hotel. Light clothing and comfortable shoes are recommended as walk up to the Acropolis is up hill 360 steps
